Storex is able to create a fully protected environment using modern oxygen reduction systems and eliminate the risk of fire starting and developing. The atmosphere in a building is permanently regulated at a reduced oxygen level. Depending on the fire load present, this can be regulated to a level of, for example, 16.8% oxygen. At such a low oxygen level, fire is extinguished and cannot develop further. Under these conditions, it is impossible to create a flame with a lighter, for example! The permanent presence of a reduced oxygen level therefore permanently prevents fire and the development of fire.

Fire prevention through oxygen reduction is a unique concept with specific advantages for situations where sprinkler systems are not desirable or technically difficult to implement as a fire extinguishing technique. Examples include situations where stored goods must not come into contact with extinguishing water, such as the storage of valuable goods such as seeds, sugar/foodstuffs, data centers, fragile collections in museums, and storage in deep-freeze cells.

Storex oxygen reduction systems

Storex designs and manufactures complete oxygen reduction systems. The systems are designed in accordance with European standard NEN-EN 16750 Fixed fire extinguishing systems - Oxygen limitation systems - Design, installation, calculation, and maintenance.

Storex calculates the required nitrogen production capacity and advises on the application of the oxygen reduction system and the required gas tightness of the warehouse. Storex manufactures the nitrogen production installation in-house according to a unique and highly energy-efficient concept, as well as the measurement and control system. The oxygen reduction system is installed, tested, started up, and explained to the technical staff by our own experienced professionals. The oxygen content in the warehouse is regulated using software developed in-house, which is used in thousands of installations. The system can be remotely controlled and monitored via an app and a cloud-based data management system, and all relevant data is stored and reported automatically. We offer 24/7 service.

The projects are checked for compliance with the EU standard NEN-EN 16750 and delivered with a certificate of conformity by an independent party.
